Success in adult life is a goal we have for all students. As they prepare to move from the classroom into the community, we focus on making their transitions as smooth as possible.
At our school, individual and group career counseling, supported school and community employment, and life skills training all contribute to our students’ increasing independence and future success.
Beginning at age 14 or earlier, transition planning is a required part of a student’s Individualized Transition Plan (IEP), and must be updated annually. By age 16, all students’ IEPs must include a post-school vision statement and a list of transition services that will support the vision.
